The Coordinates Menu

The Coordinates menu contains the following items:

Text - Color

The "Text - Color" Screen Painter Coordinate System is used when creating graphical applications that are deployed in a text-based environment containing color terminals. It can be used in conjunction with the other Screen Painter Coordinate System Modes of operation to tailor solutions to graphical and monochrome text-based terminals as well.

Text - Monochrome

The "Text - Monochrome" Screen Painter Coordinate System is used when creating graphical applications that are deployed in a text-based environment containing monochrome terminals. It can be used in conjunction with the other Screen Painter Coordinate System Modes of operation to tailor solutions to graphical and color based terminals as well.

Graphical

This is the default Screen Painter Coordinates Mode. It is used when creating graphical applications that are deployed in graphical user interface environments such as Windows.

Adapt Text From Graphical

The row, col, wdth, and hght fields can contain invalid values that cause the text-based version of Zim to display a widget inappropriately. When this is the case, the Screen Painters coordinates menu provides the option to "Adapt Text from Graphical"; this option is equivalent to setting the row, col, wdth, and hght fields to $null so that the Screen Painters Text Mode can initialize them to appropriate values given the graphical description of the widget.

Adapt Graphical From Text

This option is equivalent to setting the row, col, wdth, and hght fields to $null so that the Screen Painters Graphical Mode can initialize them to appropriate values given then text-based description of the widget.
